After the year 1993 redboxing was coming to an end, a phone referred
to as the millennium made by Nortel networks prevented phreakers
from simulating the sequence of quarters dropping through the
phones coin slot with there muted mouth piece in this article I will tell
you two ways to beat this.
What you will need to do this...
Screwdriver preferably a pointy one with a pretty small tip
Beige box (Just an old phone with alligator clips attached to it)
A set of redbox tones
Ok so you know the silver tube thats wrapped around the wires that
connect to the head set well heres were the screwdriver comes in
handy take the screwdriver and try to pop the blue piece of rubber
thats protecting the wires from being exposed well when you have that
removed unwrap the tubbing a bit and u will see some wires look for
the red and green ones clip them to your beige box and vwola you can
now play redbox tones through your beige box. Note : if there is no
green or red wires just play around and connect the clips to random
wires till you get it working.
The second method is a bit easier and doesn't require anything but a
beige box and a redbox. You know those phones that don't accept
coins only cards and are small you usually see in hotels beside some
chairs on all the floors well when no ones around follow the normal
phone wire to the wall and you will see a little box around it don't be
fooled that opens in a snap just pull a bit and it will swing open and
attach your beige box wires and there you go just play some quarters
and it will work.
There you have it 2 more ways to phreak the millennium there is
another way on hack canada that involves cutting a wire internally in
the phone but I do not plan on trying this mainly because you would
have to damage the phone.
