About the occult
UNDERSTANDING THE OCCULT
AND DELIVERANCE FROM SPIRITUAL POLLUTION.
A. INTRODUCTION - WHY WHY WHY?
1. Why is it that thousands of Christians in churches and
fellowships across the land sigh secretly under an
indefinite load, and are inwardly tormented, suffering from
all sorts of mental and physical complaints? Why can they
not find deliverance and healing, in spite of all their
efforts and prayers, and suitable medical care?
2. Why do so many who call themselves Christians, despite
sincere prayers and desparate struggles, not seem to know a
spiritual new birth, and a life of victory based on a
triumphant and God given faith?
3. What is the underlying cause of the almost universal
unbelief, why is there such malice and hatred towards born
again, true believers? Why are all sections of the media so
hostile towards a witness of real and spiritual
Christianity.
4. Why have so many preaching, evangelistic and missionary
efforts so little impact in bringing men and women through
to a vital and living faith in Jesus?
5. And why are many so called Christian nations building more
and more mental institutions, which are constantly full,
inspite of the progress of medical science?
B. WILL YOU BELIEVE THE ANSWERS?
1. Men's eyes have been blinded by the God of this world.
2 Corinthians 4:4, and who is "the god of this world"?
The one who is also called the "prince of this world" by
Jesus in John 12:31, and in 1 John 5:19 we read that "the
whole world is in the control of the evil one", and that is
why the media, the tv, the papers and the film world are so
successful in keeping living, cross centred Christianity
out.
He also offers and entices people into a false spiritual or
religious experience - It's no big deal for an unsaved
person to get involved with a cult or some other occultic
practise, I mean, the Bible says that before we got saved by
Jesus we belonged to Satan, so there's no big struggle,
people are deceived because they have already been blinded
to the truth.
But that doesn't let us Christians off the hook, when we got
saved we didn't receive a monopoly in Truth, the Holy Spirit
teaches us all things yes, but "line upon line, and precept
upon precept". The most dangerous position a Christian can
hold is when he believes he can't be deceived.
This is one area where we went wrong in the charismatic
movement, some of us couldn't tell the difference between
psychic or occultic spiritual experiences and the power of
the Holy Spirit. And the Lord gets the blame.
C. WHAT IS THE OCCULT
1. Definition of the word Occult
a) The Oxford Dictionary:
Something that is kept secret, esoteric, mysterious and
beyond the range of ordinary knowledge; involving the
supernatural, mystical or magical.
b) Christian definition:
From the Latin "occultus", hidden, secret, mysterious:
All that is supernatural and yet not of Divine origin,
(according to God's revelation in the Bible); therefore all
that is from below, from the powers of darkness.
2. It's Origins
a) The God of this world, Satan, is a Fallen Angel
Isaiah 14 & Ezekiel 28
b) A Fallen Mankind
Genesis 3 & 2 Cor 4:3-4
3. It's Many Forms
a) Developed thro' History
Genesis 6, 11 & Jude 6
Spiritualism and communication with evil spirits or fallen
Angels has been happening throughout history, from the
fallen angels (this is what Nephelim means) co-habiting with
the daughters of men (there are other interpretations). The
fully developed astrology of the nations at Babel, did you
know that at one time the constellations or the star signs
where used to predict the coming of the Saviour and the Holy
Spirit? The Ram was said to represent the sacrificial lamb,
Virgo - the virgin bearing the branch the root of Jesse,
Aquarius - the water bearer representing the Holy Spirit
from who would flow rivers of living water and so on. "The
Heavens declare the glory of God" Psalm 19:1-6 makes
interesting meditation in this context.
I am having some interesting chats with a professional
astrologer who uses a computer to make astrological charts,
he had his baby christened here some years ago, and maybe
one day the truth of what I have shared with him and you,
might have an effect, and he will be set free.
b) Israel's continual failure to combat Spiritualism, their
preference for worshipping a false god represented by a
phallic symbol, or ashteroth. Deuteronomy 18:10-13,2 Kings
21:6,2 Kings 23:24

c) Today's Manifestations
Occult practises can be roughly divided into three areas:
1) Initiation (Deut 18:10) into cults and fringe activities
that have occultic origins: TM, YOGA, Moonies, JWs and
Mormons etc. and if you have been reading the Independent
this week you will see that Freemasonry has been much
discussed, and it comes as no surprise to me to hear that
William Whitelaw is or was a member of the 33rd Degree Arch
Mason, their initiation ceremonies are gruesome and
occultic, especially at the higher levels of membership.
A Vicar who renounced Masonry said that his church wardens
would rather walk through a blizzard to get to a lodge
meeting than to go to a service.
2) Divination, fortune telling and clairvoyance including such
practises as Tarot Cards, tealeaf reading, palm reading,
phrenology (reading head bumps), and most commonly
horoscopes, on which I have shared enough already.
You might be surprised to know that I would include Water
Divining under this category (India and water divining with
maps)
3) Spiritualism or contact with evil spirits who impersonate
the dead through mediums or channelling. Many cults have
spiritualistic activities activities in their most secret
ceremonies.
D. HOW ARE CHRISTIANS AFFECTED
1. From Parents
a) The Sins of the Fathers
Exodus 20:5,
"...you shall not bow down to them or worship them.....I am
a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the
fathers to the third or fourth generation"
This is why it is important to renounce the occult practises
of our parents and even grand parents and beyond.
Lev 26:39-40
"But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their
fathers...."
Freemasonry, spiritualism and other such practises and
beliefs have a devastating effect on the offspring, their
are children in our schools who behave like ranting demons
because in some cases their parents have allowed evil in
through their occultic practises.
2. Pre-Christian Involvement
a) Teenage Dabblings

b) Deceived Bereaved
Spiritualists promising to contact departed.
The spirits the mediums profess to bring up are not the
deceased but evil spirits who have know and possibly tempted
the people they would like to imitate, they are deceiving
spirits
3. Deceived or willfully disobedient
a) Christians Deceived into wrong teaching
b) Wilfully Seeking Power, Not Minding it's Source.
Jesse Penn-Lewis a lady who practised a humble and powerful
teaching ministry at the turn of the 19/20 century, and also
councelled the Russian Royal family just prior to the
Revolution, had this to say: War on Saints 2nd edition P2.
"The Peril of the Church at the close of this age is
foreshown to be especially from the supernatural realm, from
where Satan would send forth an army of teaching spirits, to
deceive all who would be open to teachings by spiritual
revelation, and thus draw them away unwittingly from full
allegiance to God.
Yet in face of this plain forecast of the peril in later
times, we find the Church in almost entire ignorance of the
workings of this army of evil spirits. The majority of
believers too readily accept everything "supernatural" as of
God, and supernatural experiences are indiscriminately
accepted because all such experiences are thought to be
divine".
E. THE WAY OF DELIVERANCE
1. Having ones Eyes Opened
a) 2 Cor 4:3-4 " The god of this age has blinded the minds of
the unbielevers"
b) Acts 26:17-18 "I am sending you to open their eyes, and turn
them from darkness to light"
2. Confession Renunciation and Repentance
Ephesians 19:19 Confession, renouncing and destroying al
your charms, books, cards and boards. I would never have a
Book of Mormon, a Jehovah's Witness New World Bible or any
other usuch material on my bookshelf, they are things
dedicated to Satan and bring bondage.
1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just
and will forgive us our sins"
3. Deliverance thro' Authoritive Prayer
And in this context Matthew 18:18 "Whatever you bind on
earth will be bound in the heavenly or spiritual realms, and
whatever you loosen on earth will be loosened in heaven"
