Theories on Religion

I've noticed recently, especially within the last few months, that I have been discussing religion with my friends and others quite frequently. Whether debating over what is true, what is right, or what is just plain crap. I've said quite a few things that have offended some people, even some things that turned my Christian friends away from me, at least for a little while, though I regret saying none of these things. There are a few things that piss me off with religion and I'll begin to list them and then just babble:

A) These parents who raise their kids from birth to be a certain religion and basically brainwash them into believing that this is the right path and that if you stray from the path you go to hell where this almighty god, who by the way loves you, has set aside all the fire and torture devices possible to harm you for the rest of eternity... But he loves you. Then there's this place that is perfect in every way. Clouds, angels, harps, the works. This leads me into my next topic but I'll wait a bit on that. So these kids, they grow up learning these things getting scared to death, as I read in another article on this site, and once they grow old enough to have discussions about it it's like arguing with a brick wall. There is no way to sway these people. Now it's not that I want them to change religions, nothing of the sort. They can believe whatever the hell they want, I don't care, hell worship butterflies with strap-on dildos for all I care. Doesn't matter. I just don't like the closed minded, never had. Although I am a bit of a hypocrit(Spelling?) seeing as I am one myself outside of religion. I'm open to a certain extent.

B) These people who take every word of the bible seriously and literally. Example: I'm at a friend's house with a whole bunch of his friends. All of them big Christian fanatics, and we're watching "What Dreams May Come," that crazy movie with Robin Williams, and they start bitching about the fact that heaven doesn't look like that. Heaven is supposed to be the perfect world for everyone, yes? Not everyone has the same wants and needs! I bet there are many different sections of heaven for certain people. Whatever, those are my big issues now onto theories. For those of you who don't realize, this is just my chance to babble endlessly.

I've got quite a few theories and they all seem to clash so just shut up and be entertained for the ten minutes it takes to read them, then forget about them forever... Or something. Alright the Earth is made up of a multitude of lightning rods for differen't types of energy. Negative, positive, neutral. Simple science, except for the fact that they don't make elements, screw the elements. Now every human being acts as these lightning rods and are more or less sensitive to the effects around them. Those who absorb negative energy will be more likely to commit suicide, those who absorb too much positive energy will be high on life... That, or gay. Now some may argue that this doesn't work on a religious basis and does on a more scientific basis but what religion really is is science that we can't comprehend. So anyway back to the lightning rods. There are some that just deflect the energy and all emit the energy which bounces from rod to rod, so eventually people have similar thoughts and beliefs due to having equal sensitivities to the energy. I was going to write a lot more but I'm drawing a blank so for now this is the end.
