The story of Azlum's imprisonment in Jyhad

Moebius presents...

/////////////////////////////////
- The story of Jyhad -
/////////////////////////////////

Yes, the long awaited story of Azlum's imprisonment in the city of Jyhad. A
powerful turning point for the history of the universe. Enjoy!

Millenia ago the creature known to us as Azlum wandered across the
universe. He was an aimless and simple creature then, unshaped by the
evolving universe which encircled him. That was to change soon.

There was a city which resided, alone, in one of the many material
planes. It was known to its inhabitants as Jyhad. As Azlum wandered
the material planes, the people sensed his power and reached out with
their evil to obtain it.

They sent their strongest warriors to subdue this strange and curious
entity. Upon capture, the magicians forced Azlum to assume a physical
form. He appeared to them as young man with long grey hair and a
robe which encompassed his tall and slender body.

His wrists chaifed painfully against their imprisoning chains for centuries.
The duration of his sentence was five centuries, an eternity to be
locked away from all your will and power. He was but a child then, but
he would grow, planted in pain and anger his seed of power grew quickly.

During his sentence, a war started in Jyhad. The peasants found that
the elite aristocracy were keeping the secrets of Magick and Reality
from them. A mass of thousands stormed the great libraries and stole the
secrets for themselves.

Powerful spells and truths lay in the hands of raging peasants. The city
burned for a thousand days and a thousand nights. The peasants eventually
fell to the sorcerers who fought from their islands, far away from the
actual battles.

The acristocracy decided to slay all peasants and migrate to a new home.
Azlum was tortured with the prayers of the killers and of the victims. His
rage grew into a field of energy that surrounded him.

The night of the Great Execution came and the people were assembled at the
plaza. However, the peasant sorcerers who had survived the thousand days war
were there. They sacrificed their lives to create a spell that shook the entire
material plane. As people screamed and prayed, Azlum grew insane. The centuries
had hurt him, he had been tortured day and night and hated the material
world.

At midnight, when the Winter Solstice was occuring here on our newborn world,
Azlum broke free. He dissolved into his pure form and lay siege to Jyhad
before racing through the cosmos. In his insane rage he forever weakened the
barrier of Reality and sent many powerful Truths to the material planes where
they can be found by the wise and brave.

Now, Azlum started an energy cascade with his massacre of spatial barriers.
Humans were and are touched by this energy, we can use it easily. Anyone can
become a sorcerer so long as they BELIEVE.

The Jyhad are now a race of beings, some human, some not, that have inborn
abilities of Reality melding. They are incredibly powerful and are sought after
by many warring factions. Many Jyhads have become deciding factors in wars across
the universe and for many millenia.

So, my followers, we see why prayer is wrong and why Jyhad is a powerful
word. What happened to Azlum? Well, he regained his sanity after three
hundred years of raging through the cosmos. He still carries a hatred for
the physical manifestation and will almost never use it. He's still out there
especially in the astral planes and the unconscious planes. This is why
your dreams are so important.

I hope you enjoyed this little legend. Remember, only your Disbelief can save
you and only your belief can free you. Go in peace.

Important:
Yup, you guessed it, keep on spreadin' the wisdom.
