Catholicism

Yes, there has been violence on the part of some, I repeat, some in the Catholic Church.
But just think about this: We are all sinners because of the sin of Adam. Hence, we all need a savior and that is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High God. Think of this: God became a little tiny Baby, born in a dirty stable for you and for me. Yes, you and me. He was beaten and mocked and was whipped with the ends of the whip containing bone or metal that ripped His flesh to ribbons and spilled His most Precious Blood for you, for His Church. And that's not all. He had a crown of thorns shoved upon His head and was mocked some more. He then carried His cross and was nailed to the cross and died on that cross for you and me.
But before that He founded His Church upon the Apostle, Peter: He said He will build His church upon this rock. Peter means 'rock.' He was the first papa, or pope. Jesus did not say churches, plural. He said church, singular. The pope represents Jesus Christ.
The church is made of men. Men are sinners. That is a sad fact. But there are also those who were tortured and killed for Jesus and His church.
Jesus came that we may have abundant life. He said whever eats my flesh and drinks my blood will have life in him and I will raise him up on the last day. If you don't do this, you have no life in you. He is the way, the truth and the life. He offers Himself in every Catholic Mass in an unbloody sacrifice, the same Sacrifice of the Cross made present today for us. In Holy Communion Jesus gives us His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. He began this at the Last Supper. The priest in persona christi, in the person of Christ says Jesus' words at Mass: "This is my Body...this is my Blood." and the breas and wine become, by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Body and Blood of Jesus.
My friend, Jesus did not commit violence, sinful men did. Please do not blame all His followers and risk depriving yourself in the process of the everlasting life Jesus freely gives in His Name.
