What is Islam

Islamic Beliefs:
- We believe there is only One God and we direct our worship
to him Alone and do not make partners with him.
[Unlike the Christians that worship god through Jesus and Saints, this is making partners with Allah]
- His name is Allah he chose this name for himself,
as it cannot be made feminine masculine or plural,
like the word God in English you can say Gods, Goddess, God.
- We believe that Muhammad [Peace and Blessings be upon him]
is the Messenger and Slave of Allah and that he was indeed
the last of the messengers...
Ok now I will discuss the 6 pillars of faith
[basically this means that a Muslim must believe in these things
if he/she does not then he/she has become a non Muslim... even if they reject one of them...]
- Believe in Allah [With his names and attributes...]
- Believe in his Angels...
- Believe in his Books... [All of them, Gospel, Bible, Quraan...]
- Believe in his messengers [All of them -- Adam...Abraham....Moses...Jesus...David....Muhammad]
- Believe in the Last Day [Day of Judgment...]
- Believe in Pre Destination where good or bad...
[This is to believe that Allah has written and has
full knowledge of whatever is to happen and has happened even good and bad]
Well that is it the 6 pillars of faith, this is internal beliefs, Now let's
discuss the External Actions... [i.e. 5 pillars of Islam...]
Islamic Actions/Duties:
- Declaration of Faith [I bare witness that there is none worthy of worship
Except Allah and that Muhammad is his last and final Messenger...]
- The Prayer [5 Daily Prayers... Dawn, Morning, Midday, Sunset, Night]
- Obligatory charity [Giving of 2.5% of ones wealth to the poor and needy]
- Fasting [Holding of fast in the month or Ramadan, for 30days
from sunrise to sunset not eating drinking and also obtaining from bad things and sins]
- Making Pilgrimage to the Kabah [making pilgrimage to Makkah to visit
the Kabah and doing some rituals once there, this is only if you can afford
it and is only once in a life time...]
