The following is a list of frequencies used around the Foxwoods Casino &
Resort located on the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Reservation in Ledyard,
Connecticut. Foxwoods has rapidly become one of the country's largest gaming
establishments and employer south-east CT. The average intake per month for
slots alone is around 43 million dollars.
The Mashantucket Pequot Indian reservation is located in the north-east
corner of the town of Ledyard, CT located in the south-east part of the
state.
Its patrolled by its own full time tribal police and private security force.
The Connecticut State Police has limited jurisdiction on the reservation and
primarily provides traffic control for Route 2, casino control unit & usually
gets called in to investigate some crimes. The tribe has a Public Safety
Complex which house the tribal P.D.,F.D. & Mashantucket Ambulance Svc.
Most of the communications takes place on the 800 MHz trunked frequencies
for the MPGE (Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprise). On them you will
find pratically all departments communicating such as security, parking
Dept. of Interior (their fancy title for custodian) & maintenance.
The tribal P.D. & F.D. operates on its own 800 MHz repeater as well
as the other radio systems. Cellular telephones also play an important
part in communications. (The nearest cell site is located less than
1/2 mile south of the reservation.)
