The Total N00bs Guide to IRC

Hello everyone...this is my first paper I have ever written for the scene...so bear with me. I wrote this because o am tired of all these n00bs wanting me to help them to IRC...its 1:24 AM...and im tired...again bear with me

Instructions

Ok, to start off you need to install Mirc...that's easy...then when you run it for the first time, enter in your username...alternate username...name email...lie for all of those...unless you want people to email you and ruin your life...now KEEP THAT OPTIONS WINDOW OPEN...go to the Menu on the left of that window and look for Ignore...if you don't see it open up the hierarchies and then find it...change the mode to ignore only...take everything off of that list...then change the mode to accept only...add the following"

*.bin
*.cue
*.sfv
*.nfo
*.tar
*.rar
*.zip
*.avi
*.mpg

Then after you add those, uncheck the "turn ignore back on in:" checkbox And close the box. Get out of Mirc. Then go to www.packetnews.com

Note: I will now be using pictures to describe what im doing...in these pictures I use Xchat not Mirc...so don't be startled...it doesn't matter at this point.

So go to Packetnews

Then search for what you want, in this case I will be searching for Doom 3

Click on the pack that you want..........ill choose the NFO (so I can teach you about those first)

An NFO is the release information and how to extract the software...and crack it

So now I am going to click on the pack for the NFO

Three things will happen...first mirc will open up (change servers if a dialog pops up)...second it will join the Network (irc.420files.net) and will say this

this is joining the network

Lastly it will join the Chat

It should display the message of the day there which (for right now as im writing this is:

so now what I do is I paste into the chat window

Note: when you clicked on the pack on the packetnews site...it pasted the trigger to your clipboard...a trigger is something you type to activate the download...in this case its /ctcp four20\osiris-09 xdcc send #4 Now you press control (hold ctrl) and V (keep holding ctrl and press V as your holding it down) and you should see your trigger in the chat box...if it doesn't show up...click the chat box then do it, then press enter

Multiple things can happen:

1. The download will start (which is good)

2. You will be put in queue (you must wait in line for your turn to download) this will look like this:

-FOUR20\\OSiRiS-09- Queuing doom 3 reloaded nfo (5.0kb). It has been placed in queue slot #15, it will send when sends are available.

Or any other slot for that matter..

3. All queue slots will be full (in that case find a new pack on packetnews)

4. Nothing...if nothing happens go click the tab that goes to the server chat (not the room chat...the 420files tab) if it says "so such nick" find a new pack on Packetnews.... if its not there...wait in the channel and do it again...of still nothing happens...find another pack on Packetnews.

(Does your download Fail before it even starts? Do you you have a router? If so type 192.168.0.1 into your address bar...when asked login as the following

User: admin

Pass: (don't type n e thing)

If that doesn't work type "password" for the Pass:

If that doesn't work try 12345 for the Pass:

If that doesn't work I cannot help you.)

Then look around for DMZ or Demilitarized Zone, once you find it click

Start

Run

Type: cmd

Type: ipconfig

And look for 192.168.0.1__

The 1__ is what you enter into your DMZ slot (__ meaning I don't know what it is...but you will, then try to download again)

Ok let say you got your file...go to your Mirc folder in Program files in your C drive, go to downloads...then go to your NFO...right click it...and open it with word pad (don't double click it you will get an error) and there you go...if you downloaded a program

Double click it...and extract it with winRAR....

Burning is another issue

Commonly you wont download NFOs www.nforce.nl has those on the site...
