Writer's Organizations

We all know that writing is a lonely business. SCRIPTS
ONLINE was developed, in part, to help our community of writers
with support, encouragement, critique and other vital aspects.

Another way to meet and talk with other writers is to join a
writer's association. By joining, you have access to:

- Information about the individual
industry.
- Information of conferences and gatherings
- Seminars and classes.
- Advocacy Groups
- Agents and publishers
- Contests and awards
- Grants and Fellowships
- New publication opportunities
- Support Groups.

Below is a listing of some of the groups available to
writers in the United States. Send off a letter of interest and
they'll send back an application kit and all the information you
need to decide whether such a group would be right for you. The
Science Fiction Writers of America is one of the groups I belong
to, and I get every year far more help and support than I ever
could get on my own.

Give it a try. More than likely, new friends and
opportunities await you.
