I found this out when I was pranking the taxis.

Go to a taxi fone, you know the ones in the super-market, they only have one button which dials the taxi.

Pick up the Fone get your mobile phone (with tones on) and put it next to the taxi fone receiver and dial your number (so your mobile is a red box). Make sure you dial slowly so the fone can pick up the tones.

P.S. It don't take half an hour to call a taxi.

This trick should work with any one-button public phone which connects to the public telephone network in order to call a specific number. The phone is pre-programmed to dial a specific number when you press the button. However, since you can get a dial tone on the phone, sending any combination of number tones down the line will dial a call to any other phone number. Using a cellular phone to generate number tones should work nicely.

A one-button phone may be connected with "minimum" dial-tone service, so you may only be able to make local, toll-free, and emergency calls.
