DOCTOR 4:Tom Baker (1974-1981)
There were a total of 42 stories made with a total of 178 episodes. All but
one have been broadcast. Serial 5M was never completed due to a strike at the
BBC at the time. The total of stories/episodes (42/178) is including Shada,
becuase serial 5M was started, and footage from all 6 episodes DOES exist, and
the BBC has put together a tape that a few have been lucky enough to see which
has the shot footage along with computer generated text to replace the non-shot
scenes.

DOCTOR #7:Sylvester McCoy (1987-current) 12 stories, 42 episodes*
Sylvester McCoy is the current Doctor picked by John Nathan-Turner (the 3rd
Doctor JNT has picked) after Colin Baker was fired by BBC Controller Michael
Grade for being so outspoken against the BBC during the 18-month hiatus of
Doctor Who from 1985-1986. So far, there has been one complete season with
Sylvester as the Doctor, and as of this writing, season 25 is before the
cameras. The information for season 25 is subject to change.

Notes on Season 26:This information is EXTREMELY TENTATIVE and most of it
will likely change (as has been done in the past). The dates are personal
guesses of mine, and I'm not really sure when the season will start. Ace is
scheduled to run thru the end of the season, and there is some talk of
adding a new companion in the middle of the season, but no one knows who
or when. Story 1 is being written by Season 25's Dalek story writer, Ben
Aaronovitch. It will be set on a planet with an Arthurian theme. Story
2 is being done by Ian Briggs (last wrote Dragonfire for season 24). It will
have a World War II setting, and will feature werewolves. Story 3(Deliverance)
will be done by Marc Platt, an associate of Jeremy Bentham, and it
will have a Gallifreyan theme, but what exactly happens is unknown. There
is some speculation that it will tie in with the Time-Lord references in Season
25' "Rememberance of the Daleks", and "Silver Nemesis". The final story of
Season 26 will be written by newcomer Rona Munroe, and will be a thriller much like season 19's "Bla" but will be set in present. As I stated previously, Season 26 info is VERY early, and willcag.Iwl
release a volume 4 of this programme guide once season 26 is done broadcasting
and I've seen it all.

THE FUTURE OF DOCTOR WHO:
Well, Dr. Who seems to have shaken the past of Michael Grade. The show seems
to be healthy again, although running at a smaller pace then before.
Sylvester McCoy does 1/3 the number of episodes that William Hartnell did, and
1/2 the number of episodes Tom Baker did in his last season. Still, this
reduced amount of Doctor Who is better than no Doctor Who at all. 14 episodes
is what I consider to be the bare minimum to run the show at all. If they
ever decide to go lower than 14, they might as well kill it. I don't think
we'll ever get to see another 6 parter unless the number of episodes goes up.
Anwyays, there are some interesting things going on with the show's future.
Scripts for Season 26 have been commissioned, so that is a reality, also there
is some word from England that Season 27 (and beyond) will be done by an
independent production company. (Much like shows here. Ex:ST:TNG by
Paramount, ALF by Alien Productions) The front runner for this coveted
position seems to be JNT's production company, for which he will leave after
season 26 to run. I've also heard that old-time Dr. Who person Victor
Pemberton will be putting in a bid to make the show. There does seem to be
a future! Season 26 will be the end of a few things. End of JNT. Andrew
Cartmel is also leaving. Sylvester & Sophie's contracts will be up, but both
have expressed interest in returning. The future looks bright for the show.
We just passed the Silver Anniversary, let's hope it gets to the GOLD anniver-
sary!
