sensitivity to the word 'japs' used to describe the Japanese people prompts

point of view regarding other people, and I certainly can't put myself up as

What strikes me most about your reply is that you don't really seem to care
how it made me feel to be put down like that. I didn't hear an apology -
only a strange attempt to justify your use of derogatory terms by saying
others do it too. Of course, freedom of speech is treasured by myself and
you certainly have the right to say/think/believe whatever you want. But I
also have the moral obligation to let you know that it hurts my feelings to
know there are people like you still out there. If my feelings (and perhaps
the feelings of other Japanese as well) aren't important to you, then
perhaps there is nothing further to do. But, as it is with all things, the
choice is ultimately yours to make...
