This is the story of "The Terminator: Rewritten II \ The
Raising of Lazarus." You can read along with me in your
book. You will know it is time to turn the page when you
hear ARNOLD shout, "I'LL BE BACK!" Let's begin... now!
Remember to turn the page every time you hear the sound.
BRAINS!

KATE WAS STUNNED! THE TOXIC AVENGER WAS STUNNED!
THE HALF-CONSCIOUS JERRY WAS STUNNED! YOU WERE STUNNED!
EVEN I WAS STUNNED! But, as sure as shooting, pun
intended, there he was. Billy Peltzer was standing there,
alive, in the flesh! Tears welled up in what passed for
Kate's eyes: her eyes. "BILLY?! Is it really you?"
"Yes, love. I'm back!" Billy gently helped Kate to her
feet. Kate looked lovingly into the face of her recently
returned husband. "But how? HOW?! I saw you plunge into
the Death Star... I SAW IT EXPLODE!" "No time for that
now, Kate!" "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, 'NO TIME FOR THAT NOW!'?
You just pop up in front of me after having been dead for
months and you won't even explain how you got here?!"
"No." "No? No what?" "Not won't. Can't! At least not
right now." "Why?" Billy held out a hand to her once
again. "Come with me if you want to live!" KATE WAS
STUNNED! Heh, being stunned twice in the same paragraph.
"What do you-" "LOOK!" was Billy's only authoritative
answer as he shoved a finger past her shoulder to the
bleeding form of her attacker behind her. Kate looked
back to see the bullet riddled body slowly rise up to a

siting position! I'LL BE BACK!

KATE WAS STUNNED! The mysterious man in black sat
up, rivulets of blood oozing from his wounds and bits of
flesh and leather falling to the floor. He reached into a
pocket set into his black leather jacket and extracted a
Walter P-38! Kate clutched her husband tightly from fear.
"Oh, Billy! The zombies are back!" She looked panicked
into his eyes. "IT'S THE RETURN OF THE NIGHT OF THE
LIVING DEAD! The end of the world! It's about to happen
all over again! And with you still alive... that means
the Anti-Christ must be making his move! We've got to-"
By now, the stranger was pointing the hand pistol in
Kate's direction. The policemen that had been arriving on
the scene in the last story finally arrived and lowered
their weapons at the sight of the man on the floor before
them, who had obviously been shot several times by a
powerful gun, rise casually to his feet, without showing
any signs of suffering from his attack. The cops,
immediately seeing an injured man, followed procedure and
opened fire on him. The bullets, like Billy's before,
weren't doing much damage to him, only the black leather
that he had insisted on wearing. Not even several bullets
through the head would stop him! I'LL BE BACK!

"AIM FOR HIS SPLEEN!" Kate shouted over the gunshots
to her employees. The cops lowered their range to the
stranger's stomach and continued but to no avail. Kate
was more than stunned, she was amazed! Destroying a
zombie's spleen was supposed to drop it, but... unless, it
was a new species of zombie, or it wasn't a zombie at
all... "C'MON!" Billy scooped Kate up into his powerful
arms and ran off with her, down a hall way out of harm's
way. The stranger took leave of the policemen firing on
him and watched as Billy ran off with his target. He
turned back to face the cops and then ran off down a
separate hallway, people firing at him and Chump Tower
patrons throwing their shopping bags at him, just for fun,
all the way. I'LL BE BACK!

Meanwhile, Billy was still rushing Kate down the
hallway. "We've got find someplace to hide, to rest!
There's so much I must tell you-" "Let's go up to my-
your- our office..." Kate got that familiar concierge
tingle between her legs. "No! That's too easy! That's
one of the most obvious places to look. We need something
more subtle." Billy came to a halt next to a row of
doors, each leading to a utility room. "Like these
closets here." He set Kate down and tried the first door
he came to, but it was locked. "Kate, go down that way,
trying doors until you come across one that isn't locked."

Kate went down the series of doors, trying each one. But,
they were all locked. Her search finally came to an end;
she ran into a wall. Realizing that there was nowhere
else to try, she headed back the way she came, towards
Billy. He was still at the first door that he had come
to. His hands were wrapped around the doorknob. There
was nothing unusual in that, except she could swear that
his hands were glowing! They seemed to assume the color
of the knob for just a single moment. She closed her
eyes, and shook her head. When she opened them, things
were back to normal, and Billy had managed to open the
door! He turned and looked at her with a start. "I've
finally gotten this one open. The others were locked."
Ushering Kate into the room, Billy closed the door behind
him. They were safe for the moment, much like they were
from the Gremlins WAY back in the original :Rewritten
tale. I'LL BE BACK!

Kate fumbled about the room and found a light switch.
When the lights came on, Billy standing was before her,
his hand slightly raised. "Good! You've found the
lights," he said, lowering his hand. He looked about the
room. "A storage room. There are many of these about the
tower, and to it, we could be in anyone of them! We
should be safe for the moment." ALL RIGHT! THEY'RE SAFE
FOR THE MOMENT! WE GET THE IDEA! Returning to the story
at hand before it becomes too tangential to salvage, there
was something in her husband's words that bothered Kate.
"You said, 'it.' Then, it is a zombie! But it wouldn't
die... And what are you doing back here, anyway! I saw
you... DIE..." Billy sighed. "Sit down, Kate. This
one's going to take a while..." I'LL BE BACK!

Kate leaned against a wall, and slowly, rather
unconsciously seductively, sat her butt on the floor.
Billy oozed his way beside her, placing his arm around his
beloved. "It's true. I was dead." "What happened?" He
paused. "Darkness. Cold. Then, light!" Kate shook her
head. "Don't give me any of that 'Return of Optimus
Prime'\'Dark Awakening' stuff!" "That's just it! That's
what it was: darkness, cold, then light! I plunged into
the burning heart of Dr. Wily's Death Star, detonating the
already ignited core, the Hand of Omega. After that, I
only remember darkness, cold. Then, light!" "You were
with Rand I again?" "Yes. But, it seems it never ends.
He said my job wasn't finished yet, and he once again
'kicked me out of the afterlife.'" The phrase "kicked me
out of the afterlife" was not an original creation of the
author. That distinction belongs to Brian Holt, to whom
appropriate compensation has been made: zip. "It seems
that Dr. Wily isn't quite dead yet..." I'LL BE BACK!

Kate recoiled at the news, reminded of her inhuman
treatment at his hands. Billy, noting her visible
reaction, consoled her. "Oh, no! It's nothing like that!
He is quite dead, FINALLY. When I dispatched him, I
tossed him, Emperor Dalek body and all, down into the
blazing Hand of Omega, which began the chain reaction that
I finished. But, before being consumed in the fires of
his greatest creation, Dr. Wily activated a specially
prepared robot. Knowing that the Death Star had already
begun its journey into our dimension for purposes of
conquest, he also knew that when it went, it would create
a temporal instability. Through that instability, Wily
sent his robot to this time and place, just fo' the sake
of simple revenge for the ruins that we've made of his mad
plans in the past. That robot was the man who attacked
you earlier!" I'LL BE BACK!

KATE WAS STUNNED! "You mean, he... THAT was a
machine? No, that can't be possible! You shot him, you
shot him dead! Blood and flesh were trailing all over the
place!" "That's just it, Kate! He's a cyborg, a metallic
endoskeleton covered with actual living tissue with
synthetic blood plasma coursing underneath. He's a
terminator!" By this time, Kate was close to hysterics.
"No! No one can do that!" Billy took hold of her
shoulders, then her breasts, and back up to her shoulders.
Attempting to shake the fear out of her, he shouted,
"Kate! Listen to me! We're dealing with the legacy of
Dr. Wily, probably the greatest criminal mind to have ever
existed. We saw what he did with cybernetics, what he did
to Chuck, my mother... our child!" "Our child?" Kate
thought. "It's true. What's worse, this cyborg is
virtually indistinguishable from other human beings.
Sweat, tears, bad breath, everything! The one thing we've
got going for us is that we know what he looks like... and
I've filled him full of holes. A bullet riddled giant in
black leather shouldn't be too difficult to discover, eh?"
I'LL BE BACK!

"WHAT WAS THAT?!" Billy shouted, drawing a rifle from
his backpack. Realizing that it was just the narrator, he
slowly lowered the weapon. "Phew! It sounded like him."
There was something that still bothered Kate. "But,
Billy, why were you sent back? Unless this robot poses
some sort of threat to the future-" Billy interrupted her
with a grim look. "It does." He put his hands on Kate's
stomach. "The little lugnut that's percolating inside
you, born of our last... session on Endure, is our future
and the robot's target!" "Lugnut? That's a rather
offensive euphemism for the result of our lust, don't you
think?" "No." "Okay. So long as we know where we
stand." "We're sitting, Kate. Anyway, the future of this

planet lies with him. The future is not yet safe, Kate,
and my father knew it. So, he sent me back here, armed
with the knowledge of the final machination that Dr. Wily
has set into motion. By the year 2010, a new series of
experimental robots, more powerful and intelligent than
even Dr. Wily could devise will arise. They will first
assume the mundane duties of human beings and then, over
the years, will take over. Seeing man as no longer
necessary, they will begin a massive extermination
campaign. Our son, John, who has yet to be born, will
lead the resistance against the robots, and prevail. But,
Dr. Wily's unknowing intervention now threatens the future
just as his mad plans had threatened the past before with
our child who became Quantum Man, and we've got to stop
him once and for all!" I'LL BE BACK!

"2010?" Various thoughts ran through Kate's mind.
"2010! You created something for me just before the Death
Star blew up." "The cassette recording. What about it?"
He knew of the tape! That was some relief to Kate. This
just might be him! "What's on it?! I'VE GOT TO KNOW!"
Billy sighed. "I'm sorry, Kate. I can't tell you! You
will find out in time, but it cannot be now. To do so
would pollute the time stream. You cannot know now and I
cannot tell you why. Because if I were to do such, the
future could be changed, positively, possibly, but also
negatively as well." Kate had to pause for a moment and
take it all in. "I- this is so hard to believe! The
pieces fit too perfectly." "I know, Kate. But you also
know how... lucky our lives have been, radiation that only
destroys evil and that sort of thing. But, that doesn't
matter for the moment. I'm back. I've returned to you-"
He slowly leaned into her and kissed her deeply. "-FOR
YOU!" It was true. By his kiss, she knew! He was back,
and Kate needed him so desperately back in her life, for
her unborn, now named son. She let go to him and to her
needs. He reached out and took a hold of those breasts
again. They had such maddening, passionate sex in the
closet that the Terminator almost pinpointed the sound of
their noisy, peacock love making. Alas for it and them,
their session ended before the robot could track them
down. It was so satisfying for Kate. Her first
satisfaction since that wonderful, fateful night on Endure
that would turn out to save the future. Who would have
thought? Two joys for the price of one loss! Still,
there was something different about Billy. As she lay
basking in the afterglow and Billy just lay there asleep,
she contemplated the differences. Billy had felt so
different inside of her, and that was when she noticed
what it was that felt so different! It was best Christmas
that the Peltzers had ever- er, it was the best sex that
she had ever had in her whole life! I'LL BE BACK!

Okay, enough of the gratuitous pandering that is
peppered throughout the series significantly enough to
keep you coming back for more. On to other more important
matters at hand! The gnarled, bloody face of Kate's
attacker stared back at it from a mirror in one of Chump
Towers' many men's rooms. He had almost found Kate, but
the sound had stopped, so he decided to stop and take care
of his easily recognizable wounds. He turned on the tap,
stopped the sink, and filled it with warm water. Firmly
grasping at a loose piece of his right cheek, he swiftly
tore it off! Blood poured into the warm water in the
sink. He leaned forward slightly and his right eye
plopped into the sink! The stranger reached over and took
several paper towels from the dispenser on the wall.
Wadding them up into one, he firmly shoved it into the
gaping cavity in the right side of his face, where the eye
had once been. He reached down and drained the bloody
water from the sink. After the water was gone, the
stranger washed the blood from his hands, leaving the tap
running to cleanse the sink of any further blood or
tissue. At that particular moment, Jerry, the Rocket
Water, entered the restroom. He stood in the doorway, his
body blocking the door from shutting completely. He
stared in French amazement at the sight before him: a
bloodied man with what appeared to be numerous paper
towels shoved into his right eye! JERRY WAS STUNNED! The
stranger slowly turned to eye him. PUN! "Get out!" was
his simple response, and leaving the men's room was
Jerry's. The cyborg contemplated its next move. It had
failed to acquire the first, second, or fourth targets,
and it had been seen by various bystanders. There was
only one course open now until it could track down Kate
again: attempt to acquire target number three. It brought
up a picture of the target from its vast memory banks. In
an instant it had scanned and memorized every minute
detail of Jason Peltzer's face!

While you were sleeping, here's what happened by the end
of "The Terminator: Rewritten II \ The Raising of
Lazarus:" Billy lives! And both he, Kate, and their
unborn child, apparent future savior of the Earth, are in
danger. And Jason seems to be next on the list! Can
Billy save both his wife and his children, one born the
other waiting? Can he truly protect them from a cyborg
that looks like any other man, save for the exit wounds?
Will Dr. Wily's last, desperate, mad attempt at revenge be
fulfilled? Well, I can tell you that that last question
won't be answered next time in "The Terminator: Rewritten
III \ Children of the Damned."
