P.E. (Pointless Education): Just one logical argum
Pointless Education
(P.E.)
Physical Education is one of the many idiotic disease to come
to our failing education system. There is just no point to dressing
in funky clothes and just standing around; think about it. What are
we getting a grade for anyway? Dressing. That's it! I, along with
most of friends you will find, can testify that I, along with most
others, do nothing that can qualify as education in P.E. or, for
that matter, anything significantly physical, and we're STILL
getting A's. Let's face it. Anyone who is athletic will participate
in class and pass all the "tests," whereas anyone, like myself, who
is uninterested in sports idly gets lost in the crowd... if they
don't notice you, they won't mark you down. The only argument I've
heard for it is that it is fun. So? Sure, some think it is fun
while others think it is a pain-in-the-a... So why not make it an
elective? The people who can find nothing better to do with time
can prance around in their little blue outfits, killing brain
cells, while those of us who would rather, oh I don't know, LEARN
SOMETHING can. From a layman point of view, are there people who
don't find P.E. fun? Yes. From an educational point of view, does
P.E. so much as add any educational value to the curriculum, little
lone even come close to it's original goal? No.
What ever happened to the good-old-days, or so I hear, when
taking an after-school sport, even band meant you got out of P.E.?
Now at least that has some logic to it. If you do something that
requires more physical activity than P.E. Will ever offer, you can
keep your brain cells firmly planted in your head where they
belong....And that, my friend, is why I say P.E. is Pointless
Education.
