Longhairs Don't Belong in Eugene...

There was once a rock song written about long hair. John Lennon thought, believed it to be wrong to have short hair and had an extensive meeting with the press under a white bedsheet about the subject of lengthy hair. In the late sixties hippies, to use a horrible word, loved to show freedom by wearing it out long, along with bare feet. Your imprisonment to society may not depend on your hair style, but it does effect your lifestyle.

I walk down the halls of my school and people stare at me or follow me around asking me how I can see with my hair down past my eyes. I usually just tell them nonsense phrases so they never bother me again, or I just ignore them. Once or twice in a week, people tell me to get a haircut, I tell them to fuck off, or go fuck themselves, or my personal favorite; 'why don't you go play hide and go fuck youself?'. When I walk in a cornerstore, or a seven - eleven, the person behind the counter watches me with his eyes until it starts to freak me out, he thinks I might rob the store. I spread my locks and smile in a kind of gnarl and then grab whatever I'm looking for.

Jim Morrison dad once made him get a haircut, buzz cut to be exact, before boarding "his" Navy ship. Morrison hated his father for that. People who do not have long hair don't know the attachment people form with their locks, whatever the color, whatever the style. You feel different in a good way, free sort of. Your bond to society is broken and you'll never see the chains again. I for one will never cut my hair again. I have a name for people like this, it's rather self- explanitory and lame but it works: long- hairs. People who don't give a shit whatever the hell people tell them or say behind their backs are longhairs, free people. People who do not care about anything, easy going, smooth, kind, different. That is why Morrison is the god of long hair. He was most definiteley the coolest person of the twentieth century, ha- ha, twentieth century fox. Anyway... People need to experience this, so spread the word, tell your mommy you don't want any haircuts any more. Tell your friends to stop being so stupid and getting a regular cut or a boy's cut. Start thinking out of the box. Isn't there something more to life than always pleasing someone else. I just learned that and I wish that I always knew that because there are plenty of things I would have done differently if I would have thought outside of the box. Brake your chains man, do drugs, and remember to be free man.
