Reading everyone's expiriences and thoughts on the wonderful galanga root I thought I would add some suggestions for the experimenter.
The best way to ingest any herb or root in this case would be to create a simple infusion, or very strong tea. I have been reading about galanga and the theory is that the essensial oil is what carries the hallucinogenic properties so to extract those as much as possible for the body to digest would be to create this tea.
2 oz. would probably be enough to just chop it up, in a quart sized mason jar and let it steep in boiling water with lid over it for a night and then wa la! You could even eat the reminants of the root for a booster.
I will be trying this as well and will post my results after but it might help anyone that is looking for some more experiments. I have read in many places that it is completely harmless so no worries there.
