As you may have read in the description you came across the term "Kentucky fried mouse story". Its just another name for a myth or urban ledgend. I heard this myth from a friend of a friend that Levi Strauss Jean Co. wasn't the original creator of its hidden pocket idea. Hmm I thought thats interesting and printed it out, but didn't think much of it. One day a friend of mine came across these papers and said "Gee I wonder what happened to all those commercials for the dockers that had the extra pockets?" I responded with "What were those commercials?" he then replied "You remember with the x-ray glasses looking at the devices in the guys pants, or the one with the people on the trampoline?" I suddenly remembered and thought now why would they have all of a sudden stopped showing those commercials, this is what led me to find out this was truth and more than just a myth.

Of course a lot of you are thinking by now, yeah whatever how can you tell that they didn't rip some person off yet came up with it by themselves? Well this is how right here. I found patent numbers along with the original article that I had heard from the friend of a friend. At first I didn't bother looking them up because it was just a simple myth I thought, but after talking with my friend about it, I became interested. I fired up my web browser and went to a patent search site and decided to search for the patent number US 6,374,421 B1. My jaw had dropped, I had realized that this idea has already been patented but Levi used it anyway. The patent was Filed August 15th, 2000 and was issued April 23, 2002. Now of course this man who had spent $13,000 dollars on his idea to be patented was now being screwed over my some money hungry company. Do you think he got a dime to it? NO, do you think he was credited? NO. You got to love America, home to where you give it your money to be the best and then get spun around and screwed by some large corporation.
