In order to rip the bookstore you need:
- Obviously a book store that sells books to students.
- A place to buy books online.
If your bookstore buys books back from students at the end of the semester then read on, else click the browser's back button :-)
Here is what to do: when the semester starts go to your college bookstore and get the prices of all your books. Go online and buy your books with the cheapest price you can find (it's a good idea to end up with a $20 difference between the price of the online store and the bookstore......so if the math book is $68 at the bookstore, try to buy it for $48 online).
Now that you got all your books for a cheaper price.....continue on with the semester until the end.....at this time the bookstore will start buying books back from students and that's where you come in (note: most bookstores don't ask for receipts when buying books back from students). So go to the bookstore and see how much they'll give you back (remember that math book you bought for $48, you might sell it back to them for $53. You earned $5 -not bad- but if you sold them 5 books then that will be $25)
Let's assume that the bookstore will buy the math book for $40, this means you lost $5.
DO NOT sell them the book. Wait until the new semester starts and post an ad for the book.
Here is what your ad should look like:
Math 101
Excellent condition
Price: $55
Bookstore price: $68 used book
. $80 new book
There gotta be someone who will buy the book from you unless you are at URF (University of Rich Fucks)
That's all for now
