Arachnophobia is a fear of spiders which can lead to insanity. That would include me on my vacation but that's another story.
The little things run fast and are just about everywhere.
Here I will talk about my methods of dealing with them
and how I kill them when they get nasty.
First of all i live in a temperate climate and spiders
are everywhere including basements, garages, ceilings
and walls. My most horrifying experiance with a spider
was when i was about to go to sleep on one of those
couches that unfold into beds and when i unfolded it
there was a huge and nasty wolf spider the size of a CD.
Okay now on to the methods of killing the nasty things.
My current favorite is to spray them with Arachnocide.
Another is to lead them on to a peice of paper and
flush them. The most effective is to squish them but
the problem with that is it leaves stains that is why
i only squish them in my garage and basement.
If they are on the ceiling, you dont have a ladder, you
dont want to leave any stains but you want them gone you
need to take a rod (metal, wood, or plastic are fine)
and quickly gently tap the spider. This should stun
them and make them fall to the ground after which
you decide what to do with them.
Spiders outside and on the pavement can be danced on
but if they are on the grass you put down your shoe
while adding press and twisting back and forth which
should grind them up. Same thing works for dirt.
For spider webs you will probably need to use the old
fashion method: grab a broom and twist the web into it.
To check if a spider is living on the web take a long
blade of grass and gently put it in the center of the web
then shake it just enough to make the whole web shake.
This will trick the spider into thinking some bug landed
and it will investigate.
I personaly only harm spiders on my property and my thoughts
are: they don't come to my house = they don't die.
None of this is researched, this is all personal experiance.
don't complain if you get bitten or these don't work.
i myself have never had to deal with black widows or
tarrantulas. Happy killing!
